RAINBOW BROWN PROJECT

In 1981 Vanguard Records released “Till You Surrender” by Rainbow Brown featuring Fonda Rae on lead vocals with plenty of enthusiasm behind the release based on preliminary feedback from R&B radio stations and some R&B based clubs and the association with well established hit producer and songwriter Patrick Adams (R.I.P.), who produced wrote and arranged the track. After a few months of promotion and hard core feedback from all entities the need for a new version was what all of the feedback especially from the club scene suggested. So back into the studio Vanguard Records went after final consultation with Parick Adams.
Vanguard records mixologist and label consultant Ray Pinky Velazquez extended the intro for easier club DJ segway and then provided a full verse of instrumental before Fonda Rae introduced her own lead vocal on the track. The new release immediately caught fire with both R&B radio and clubs and the initial intended success of the first release was now a reality with the remixed version with radio and Billboard chart action and bottom line sales.
